What I am Thankful For . . .

Most people today are with their families eating and having a good time. During the holiday season we tend to be very selfish and forget that some people don't even have food on Thanksgiving. I have never done this with my family, but I have heard that people go around their thanksgiving table and tell one or two things that they are thankful for. So that is what I am going to do.

I am thankful for all of my followers and readers of this blog.

I am thankful for my Moma and Daddy for giving me such a great life and being supportive of me.

I am thankful to have such a great best friend. aMt has been really great to take to over this school year.

For all of us who are eating and surrounded by friends and family today should all be thankful for the food we have and that we have a roof over our head this Turkey Day.

What are you thankful for this thanksgiving? I would love to hear in the comments! Thank you for reading and have a preptastic Turkey day with your family.

Shoes: Clogs and/or Dansko's

One of my most comfortable and versatile shoes I own are my Dansko's. Dansko's are just a brand of clogs, but they are the brand that all of the nurses wear and are super comfortable. When my back is killing me I only have to wear my pair a day to school and my back feels brand new. I may be only 14, but with my scoliosis and all of the tennis I play, my back hurts a lot at the end of the day. I have had my Dansko's, the black patent leather pair, for about three or four years. I love to wear them with a causal dress or skirt. They also make me an inch and a half taller so that is always a plus for me.

There are so many styles and patterns that you can find on Dansko.com. Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!!

The Great Struggle

This week I only have to go to school two and a half days - all day Monday and Tuesday, and I get out at 11:45 on Wednesday. But all of my teachers have made this incredibly short week a marathon for my classmates and me. I have an Algebra II/Trigonometry quiz tomorrow at 9:15, a project in English due also, and I have a presentation to give. On Tuesday I have a Physics project due. But that is about it. Then we don't come back to school until next Tuesday, which is also my friend aMt's birthday!

After I get out on Wednesday, my Moma, Daddy and I are going to my grandmother's house. It is a five to six hour car drive. With two ADD's in the car in the middle of the day, my Moma will be going crazy by the end.

Liebster Blog Award

I was nominated by Sarah over at Simple Classic Prep for the Liebster Blog Award. Thank you so much Sarah!

What each nominee has to do:
1. List 11 random facts about themselves.2. Answer the 11 questions provided by the blogger who nominated them 3. Choose 11 more nominees (who must have 200 followers or less) and ask them 11 questions

The 11 Questions form Sarah:
1. If it's not monogrammed, is it even really yours?

No, well maybe. My tennis racket's aren't monogrammed, but they are still my babies.

2. How would you describe your personal style?
Mix between today's modern women and all the great fashionistas of the 1960's like Jackie O. and Audrey Hepburn.

3. Lipstick or lipgloss?

Lipstick, it enhances my already full lips, and lipgloss makes my lips feel all sticky.

4. If you could start your own charity what would it support?

If I would start my own charity it would support the research for learning disabilities like ADD. ADHD, and dyslexia. I think that it is important for the kids who aren't as confident and head strong as I am to live as close to a normal life as they can. They shouldn't have to worry about people laughing at them, and it can also be really hard on families as well.

5. What is your dream job?

To be either a tennis pro or a famous lawyer.

6. To what other countries have you traveled? What was your favorite and why.

The only other country I have visited has been Costa Rica, but I am going on a school trip in April to Italy and Greece!

7. What are your favorite magazines?

People. Vanity Fair, and bridal magazines.

8. What kind of car do you drive? What kind of car do you wish you drove?

Well since I am only 14, I don't get my learners permit until next November 18th, and my license until nine months after I get my learners, so I don't drive a car. But I am wishing for a Subaru.

9. What sports do you play if any? (cheerleading, horseback riding, and sailing are certainly considered sports!)

Tennis… Yeah, it's sort of my life. I used to swim competitively and I played lacrosse at my school for two years, but not anymore.

10. Do you have a favorite song? If so, what is it?

I don't really have a all time favorite song. I really like the classical piece Ave Maria by Franz Schubert  but I don't really have just one favorite song, I have many favorite songs. But the song that has been stuck in my head all day long has been A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton.

11. Using your own experiences, define love :)
Ummmm…. I don't think I am qualified to answer that questions since I have never been in love, or even had a boyfriend.

Here are the 11 questions for my nominees:
1. Pearls or diamonds? Silver or gold? Why?
2. If you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would you live?
3. Favorite fashion icon?
4. What is your favorite saying?
5. Spotify or Pandora? Why?
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
7. What are you looking forward to in the next year?
8. Tory Burch or Kate Spade? Coach or Channel? Why?
9. Flip-flops or heels? Why?
10. What is or was you favorite subject in school?
11. Who do you look like most, your mom or your dad?

And my 11 Nominees are:

Have a preptastic day!

The Perfect Pair of Jeans

So everyone has that one pair of jeans that is perfect. They are perfect because they fit well, they make you butt look supper good, and they go with everything. Well coming from a person who can only wear jeans to school on Fridays, I find myself planning out what I can wear all week in my head just so I can come to a perfect outfit with my jeans on Friday. You must be thinking, "Why can she only wear jeans on Fridays?" Well it is called a prep school with dress code. I can also not wear jeans except on Friday and ripped jeans, or tie dye at all.

Lets get back on track shall we. My perfect pair of jeans comes from Land's End's Canvas line of all places.

I love these jeans because they fit well, they go with everything, they make my butt look good, and they are skinny without being supper skinny. By my last point I mean it's not a struggle to get them on, but they are still slightly form fitting with out showing every single imperfection. I did have to take my pair to the dry cleaners and have them hemmed and to make the legs a little more skinny, but the waist and everything else were perfect. These are actually my second pair of these jeans, the first pair I got four years ago and I wore them to the point that they were falling apart.

So tell me about your favorite pair of jeans? Why do you like them? Do you have a special connection to them? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Ranging from small to extra large you will be sure to find a size that will fit the always on the go girl or rumbunctious boy in your life. This was featured in my Let's Talk: L.L. Bean's Boat and Tote post back in July! Definitely get the long handles. They come is a variety of different colors and sizes!

Great for a a gift for the people in you life you always likes to make sure that it is theirs. The one on the right is an example of what a girls monogram could look like on a Tervis and on the left is an example of my Daddy's with his middle initial were my last initial would be. This is just to make it more masculine.

These come in a variety of colors, and you can do the same thing with these as you can with the tumblr for the boys. I and just going to use my dad as an example. His first initial is M, his middle is A, and his last is S. So like mine is First is little "m", big last initial "S", and little middle initial "v" my Daddy's would be mAs. I got my Moma and me one of these in the interlocking front (right) and my Daddy loved it so much he wanted me to order him one, so I did in the block font (left) in royal blue.

Ones for the girls and ones more for the boys... The one on the top I can see more of a boyish stationary, but if it came in another color or font I would scoop that up in a heart beat! That is called Anchors A2 Stationary. The one on the bottom I can see as more of a feminine stationary set. That is called Bicycle A6 Stationary

Stress . . .

The past two weeks have been supper stressful for me. Last week I could barely sleep and when I did sleep it wasn't a very restful sleep. I didn't eat a lot, I was always had other things on my mind while I was in school. But yesterday the stress finally enveloped me and I had one of my very typical, what I like to call my stress attacks.

These "stress attacks" happens about once or twice a school year. What happens when the stress just becomes to much is that I just brake down into tears and sob. And trust me I am not very attractive when I cry. At the end of last year, I realized something. That I couldn't stress so much about school and my grades because if I did, I would end up having a psychotic break before I could graduate high school. I still have that realization and I was doing really well, it was a miracle that I lasted until November. I think that I just have to come to terms with the fact that I am stressed and not to ignore it.

I am trying to find better ways to deal with my stress. One of my outlets is my tennis. I find that hitting a tennis ball at 50 miles per hours helps me deal with the stress of being a teenager living in a world that if you don't get all A's during high school you wont make it into a good college, and just life in general.

So this is what I am really trying to get to with this post: you can't stress about everything, only stress about the things you can control and about the things you can't. So what are some of your stress relievers? I would love to hear about them in the comments. Have a preptastic day! I promise tomorrow I will have a better post about something fun!

L.L. Bean's Adirondack Barn Coat

I was looking for a winter coat in my closet this past week and I found one of my old Barn Coats. I was form when I was 8 or 9 and was a XL kids size. It fit me beautifully, the arms were a smig short, but all in all fit me perfectly. I wanted to see if I could get another coat like it and I found the Adirondack Barn Coat on L.L. Bean.com.

This jacket especially reminds me of a Barbour jacket, except instead of $300 it is $80. I like this jacket a lot because it is not to heavy, and if it is cold enough you can put a sweatshirt under it. For the reason of putting a sweatshirt under a jacket, I was ways get a jacket like this a size up. So I normally wear a Large in jackets, even though I wear a medium in t-shirt size I have ways gone up a size when I buy sweatshirts, I would most likely buy a Large or Extra-large in this jacket.

Like everything L.L Bean makes I know that it will last a long time and look good as new in ten years. This jacket is great, it is not to constricting, while still being stylish and warm. They make then in a mens version too! Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Let's Talk: L.L. Bean's Bean Boots

Last week was rough for me, but the highlight was on Wednesday when I came home and found a package from L.L. Bean sitting on my front porch. My Bean Boots had came!!!

The happiest sight in the world!

Fun fact: I didn't know they came unlaced, and was a little confused when I opened the box.

My I say: USA! USA!

I couldn't wear them on Halloween, so I wore them on November 1st!

So after I laced them, and got them on they became a lot less confusing. In my past post, Socks for Fall: Boots, I show an assortment of socks that will go perfectly with these boots and more. I love these boots because they run big so that you can put heavy socks on, and wear heavy socks keeps for feet nice an toasty in the winter time. Having warm feet in the winter may be the only thing I look forward to about winter, well and Christmas of course! Being a summer baby i have a natural aversion to any temperature under 70 degrees.

Bean Boots are made for so many different types of weather, snow, rain, sleet, etc. They are made for men, women, and children. They run big, so if you don't want to wear them with heavy socks then order a size down, they tell you this on the website. The Bean Boot was originally a hunting boot made for Maine hunting that ended up evolving into a snow and winter boot. They are hand made in the USA, like there Boat and Totes are, so you know they are good quality.

I absolutely love L.L. Bean! They have so many great product that are useful, durable, and made in the USA! I talked about my love of their tote bags in my past post, Let's Talk: L.L. Bean's Boat and Tote. I know that like the Boat and Tote bag, that these boots will last me for ten maybe twenty years, and will look almost as good as the day I got them.

Tell be about your favorite L.L. Bean product and why you love it so much in the comments! Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

My Moma's Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo's

My Moma's has, like her jewelry, been hiding all of her vintage Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. I was looking for a pair of her tennis shoes for my halloween costume, and I discovered three pairs of Ferragamo's.

Brown Snake Skin Pumps

2 inch heel.

I have a pair of brown cowboy boots, and a pair of brown riding boots, but I don't own a pair or brown pumps. This is why I was so happy when I found these. All of the shoes that I found have a 2 inch or lower and with all of my ankle problems it helps to have lower heels.

White with Beige Cap Toe Pumps

1 1/4 inch heel

I don't know if i well ever have an outfit to wear these shoes with but they are Ferragamo's.

Cream Pumps with Intricate Heel Work

I just love the detail on the heel!

2 inch heel

I fell in love wit the heel work on these. They are so beautiful, but subtlety stunning. At a glance, they look plain, but when you actually look at then they become more than that. The heel work almost reminds me of a intricate work above those fancy mirrors.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Happy Late Halloween!!!

So last night I had a tennis match and crashed when I came home, sorry for not doing this last night. but I wanted to share with you alll what I was for halloween.

An 1980's Tennis Player!!!

Shocking I know... The only thing that I had to go out and buy for this outfit were the sweatbands. The rest of the outfit came from my pack-rat parents. The jacket was either my Moma's or Daddy's, the shoes my Moma's, the shorts my fathers from way before I was born, and the shirt was my Moma's. The tennis racket was mine when I was younger. I am pretty sure that was the tennis racket that I learned how to play tennis on.

Thank you for reading and sorry this was a few days late! Have a great day!
