School Time Means it's Lilly Time!

You know what school means. It means a new Lilly Pulitzer Agenda!! I wanted something different this year for an agenda.

I had a diffrent Lilly Agenda during Freshman year that also featured elephants (Tusk in Sun). I loved it so much! Personally, I find this agenda so cute and very edgy, but still classic, which are two of my favorite things in the style world! Sound off in the comments if you purchased your own Lilly Agenda to start the year!

Thank you of reading and have a preptastic day!

It's That Time of Year Again

I start my Sophomore year of high school today. One year down and three more to go. I must say that this past year has flown by, it felt like yesterday that I was getting ready for Freshmen year, and now I am getting ready for Sophomore year! It's crazy!

Going back to school, to me, means not being able to go to bed at 1 or 2 in the morning and getting up at 11. It means going to bed at 11pm and getting up at 5:45am. Ugh! I don't like getting up in the morning!! But going back to school also means getting to see my friends and play lots of tennis is 90 degree weather…

School also means getting new clothes for school! My Moma and I went to the outlets last weekend and bought some clothes to start school with. My Moma also bought me 5 dresses from the Lilly Pulitzer end of summer sale! I have the best Moma in the world! At the outlets we went to Talbots, Nautica, and Banana Republic. I wanted to hold off on J.Crew and Ralph Lauren until they got more fall stuff in. So here is what I bought!!

Blue and Green Polk-a-dot Dress from Banana Republic

Bicycle shirt from Banana Republic

White Lace Shell from Banana Republic

Navy and White Polk-a-dot Blazer from Banana Republic

Fox Sweater from Talbots

Janice Shift in Resort White

Wish me luck on my first day of school! How has been doing there fall shopping lately? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Sleep and Other Important Things

So the past few week I have been very busy, and very stressed. The stress I have learned to handle, but I have noticed recently that there are not enough hours in the day to get everything I need to get done done. I have been going to sleep between midnight and 2 a.m. for the past three weeks. I have also been wishing that there could be 26 hours in a day. I have school, then other things really important out side of school. I have been laking lists, sending emails, doing huge projects, and another whole boat load of stuff. This has been the first time all week that I have sat down and done something that has to be done now. All the other time I have been sleeping, or eating and even when I am eating I am checking my email or sending emails.

Going to bed at 2 in the morning has really takes a toll on me. Well when I go to bed at 2 and then I have to get up at 6, I am only getting four hours of sleep. I should be getting 8 or 9 hours a night. My life is still moving a mile a minutes, but I need to write this post to get my mind off my own life. Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Day 3 of Exams = Over With!!

After I took my English exam this morning I felt like I had just been ran over by a freight train. All I did from 8:30 to 11:30 this morning was sit at a desk, stare at my laptop screen, and type. Day three of exams - DONE!! Thank heavens!!

Tomorrow, I get to sleep in a little later because I don't start my exam until 9:15, but go until 12:15.  All of my class mates get to sleep in though. :( They took english and math today, were as my dyslexic brain can't go from words to numbers that quickly so my Moma was able to get a letter from my psych doctor in time for today. But tomorrow maybe my toughest exam yet. I was stressed about my English exam, and now that I have taken that my stress level has plummeted. Now I am worried that I won't do well on my Algebra II/Trig exam!! What is wrong with me!?!?

I best go and study for my first, last midterm exam of high school! Wish me luck! Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Hello, Exams. Goodbye, Sanity.

Exam: (noun) ig-'zam
A test. Short for examination. (Aka Pure Torture!!!)

Next week are exams… I have two exams on Monday and Wednesday, and one on Tuesday. For me Monday I have the two exams I am least worried about, World History and Physics. Tuesday is only my Latin exam, and I made over two hundred note cards with the vocabulary that I need to study. Wednesday, is my toughest day, I have my English and Algebra II/Trigonometry exams.

Yesterday come home from school I had my laptop, two text books, three binders, and three spiral notebooks, or pretty much my entire locker.

So, that is my weekend. Thank you for reading and have a preptastic rest of your weekend!

The Great Struggle

This week I only have to go to school two and a half days - all day Monday and Tuesday, and I get out at 11:45 on Wednesday. But all of my teachers have made this incredibly short week a marathon for my classmates and me. I have an Algebra II/Trigonometry quiz tomorrow at 9:15, a project in English due also, and I have a presentation to give. On Tuesday I have a Physics project due. But that is about it. Then we don't come back to school until next Tuesday, which is also my friend aMt's birthday!

After I get out on Wednesday, my Moma, Daddy and I are going to my grandmother's house. It is a five to six hour car drive. With two ADD's in the car in the middle of the day, my Moma will be going crazy by the end.

Stress . . .

The past two weeks have been supper stressful for me. Last week I could barely sleep and when I did sleep it wasn't a very restful sleep. I didn't eat a lot, I was always had other things on my mind while I was in school. But yesterday the stress finally enveloped me and I had one of my very typical, what I like to call my stress attacks.

These "stress attacks" happens about once or twice a school year. What happens when the stress just becomes to much is that I just brake down into tears and sob. And trust me I am not very attractive when I cry. At the end of last year, I realized something. That I couldn't stress so much about school and my grades because if I did, I would end up having a psychotic break before I could graduate high school. I still have that realization and I was doing really well, it was a miracle that I lasted until November. I think that I just have to come to terms with the fact that I am stressed and not to ignore it.

I am trying to find better ways to deal with my stress. One of my outlets is my tennis. I find that hitting a tennis ball at 50 miles per hours helps me deal with the stress of being a teenager living in a world that if you don't get all A's during high school you wont make it into a good college, and just life in general.

So this is what I am really trying to get to with this post: you can't stress about everything, only stress about the things you can control and about the things you can't. So what are some of your stress relievers? I would love to hear about them in the comments. Have a preptastic day! I promise tomorrow I will have a better post about something fun!

Classical vs. Modern

Hi everyone! I hope your day is going well. Something that is always apart of my day is classical music. Since I am a more or less Classical Pianist, and violinist, I play classical music almost everyday. I also listen to classical music a lot. The great concertos and symphonys of Bach and Beethoven have gotten me through quit a few study halls this year. Especially with my ADD it's hard for me to focus, but pop my head phones in and then BAMM an hour had gone buy and I have written an entire English paper.

Classical music has been scientifically studied that it helps you if you listen to classical music when you study. I know that it helps me block out out side noise. Sometimes, I have my earphones in and my volume is a little loud on my music when they get to a really loud point people around me can hear it. my friend, aMt can attest to me blaring my classical music. One time the band teacher was proctoring the study hall I was in and she asked me to turn my music down and then asked if those were violins playing. I had been listening to a piece that had a loud violin part.... It looked like I busted.

Whenever I listen to classical music, its like the whole worlds melts away and it only me and what I am working on in the world. I become completely oblivious about what is going on around me and it takes a lot to get me out of the world I am in when listening to classical music.

I totally recommend listening to classical music to people for when they are studying, there is just something about it that motivates you and helps you to not have a care in the world.

What are some of your study techniques that you do to help you focus? Here is a poll that I would love for you to fill out about what kind of music you like. Please! :) It's to help me get to know ya'll more!

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Spirit Week!

This past week was Spirit Week at FA. Having been at FA since I was 4, I bleed Blue and Green. Spirit week always leads up to Homecoming. Since we aren't big enough to have a football team our Homecoming games are field hockey, soccer, and tennis. Last year when I was in 8th grade I was on the Varsity Tennis team, but I didn't get to play in the Homecoming game. The week before Homecoming I severely sprained my ankle and I was in a waking boot for the entire Spirit Week. But this year I was uninjured and was able to play.

Last year... :(

During the week of Spirit Week we have themed days. If you dress in the days themes, your grade gets spirit coins that are them redeemed for points. Monday was Comfy/ PJ Day, Tuesday was Pirates vs. Ninja Day, Thursday was Party in the USA Day (our Homecoming theme is Party in the USA), and Friday was Blue/Green Day. Each person is assigned to either the Blue team or the Green team. I am on the Green team. I love Spirit Week!

aMt and I on Pirate vs. Ninja Day

On Friday was also have the Spirit Parade! The Freshmens theme was Twilight. We sort of failed. the Sophomores had Harry Potter, the Juniors had the best one with Indiana Jones, and the Seniors had Star Wars. But during the parade I fell and hurt myself.

The boy in the left is lPa who was Jacob, and the one on the left is pAb who was Edward. lPa actually has the abs, they just enhanced it with some marker.

My booboos. :(
So tonight is the homecoming dance. I am going with a group of friends. look for a post tomorrow or Monday about the dance. Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!

Frye Boots!!

I love Frye boots. Literally the only two pair of real boots I have are Fryes and I wear the so much! At least during the winter I do. In the summer it is just to hot to wear socks and boots. I have a very strange problem, I have HUGE calfs. I had to get these boots a size up just so that I could wear them. So instead of 8's and I have to get 9's.

I wear these all the time. My friend, kNea, and I have the of these boots. I wear mine so much, with dresses, jeans, shorts, etc. They may be the best purchase that I have made since I bought my Rainbows!! I bought mine two years ago.

My second pair of Frye boots that I bought last year. They have a 2 inch heel, but they look supper cute with a casual everyday dress! They only thing is that you have to do if yo buy these boot is that you have to were more like knee high socks instead of just high socks.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!!

My Closet!!!!

A few weekends ago I cleaned and reorganized the closet that is in my room. I don't have a before pictures, but I have finished pictures.

This is the closet, to the left of the closet is a wall that I have an chest with a mirror on it and that is were all my drawers are, so for my socks, and t-shirts, and all the stuff you don't have to hang up. On the right you can see that I have a stand-up jewelry box, that is right now mostly inhabited by my parents stuff. but hopefully I can get it cleaned out and put my jewelry in it.

So I put some of those Command by 3M hooks that don't damage the walls up on either side of my closet so that I could have more space for my stuff that you cant really hang in the closet and you cant put it completely away because you use it often. So I have so of the necklaces that were my moms from the 80's that I talked about in my post from last week here. I have some of my purses hanging on the right side of my closet.

On the left side of my closet I put 4 more of the same hooks up and I have some necklaces, a purse, my belt, and a lai form Disney,

This is the sign hanging on the door to my closet. This will make more since when you see my shoes.

So this is what is behind the doors of my closet... You can see that I have jammed paced it in. I will go through each of the layers of my closet.

I have 24 inches above my closet that I have put some containers that I found at Walmart. Some shoe boxes and stuff like sweat shirts and all the stuff that I don't need for the season.

So I can see my closet in the morning, my Daddy got my some of those stick up lights for my closet. I only use them when i need them and they really light up my closet.

So here is the closet portion of my closet. Some people organize their closet by color or by season, but I am not that organized. My closet is organized like this. All my dress is are on the left, you have sweaters and cardigans to the right of my dress. Next the my sweaters i have all my shirts, next to my shirt that are not in any order, and my shirts are to the far right.

Now to ground level. To the right in the back you can see my cow boy boots and my riding boots, next to those I have all the shoes that I wear, but not often in same containers that I have above on my shelf, in front of those I have the hoes that I wear more often to school.

I took my laundry basket out so that you could see my shoes better, but this is how my closet is during the week.

You may wonder how I get every thing up on to the shelves, well I have a step ladder to help me. That is what happens when you are 5' 3".

Hopefully some of the things I have done will help you or your loved ones organize something in your life better. Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow!

What is up with my Knee?

So if you read my post entitled Athletes... you have heard my health wows and how even though injured I kept playing. And if you haven't that post yet read it and come back and read this, or not and just guess.

That brings me to something else. Two weeks ago I was going to tennis, it was a normal day, and I was tying my shoes when I felt a lump on the front of my right knee. I can move it around and it is about the size of a marble, and it is right under my kneecap. When I asked my Moma what it would be she said it is most likely a cyst, but she said that she would make an appointment with my primary care doctor.

The thing is, is that if I go to the doctor and they want to remove the cyst right then and there I wouldn’t be able to play tennis for a while meaning I have to give up my rank as #4 and I have worked hard to get where I am in tennis.

This past weekend I went to my grandmother house, and I asked her to use her wise wisdom from having both of her knees replaced, and she said the same thing that my Moma did. She also said that when she got her knee replaced they found a cyst in her knee and removed it.

So this is what I think I am going to do. Go see the doctor and see what they have to say, but not have it removed until at least November when tennis season is over and done with. Because I don’t want to be bleeding all over the court!

I don't know what will happen, but all I can do is hope for the best outcome and know that I have my guardian Angels up there watching after me. Thank you for reading, and remember you health is the most important thing, well sometimes.

mSv

Athletes...

Being an athlete, you are willing to put your body through hell to get better and be the best. Being an athlete you can break, sprain, and God knows what else you can do to your self. Only athletes who are willing to go through hell to get better are the athletes who truly loves the sport.

Last October when I sprained my ankle playing tennis and had to go to the emergency room and was on crutches and had to wear a boot for two weeks, the only thing that I was concerned about laying in the emergency room was “what if I can’t play tennis?” That was the only thing I was thinking, well that and some not-so-lady-like words. What it hurt!

Me in the ER. :(

Me in a walking boot. Very stylish!

Me in my brace. That I have been wear for almost a year.

Since last October, I have sprained my left ankle another two times, and my right ankle twice, but all minor sprains haven been back to the ER since, so that is a good thing, right?

I know that injuries will always be likely in sports. And for tennis players, ankle and knee injuries are the most common injuries we receive. But some times we don’t realize what we have done to our selves. I know I did. The second I was cleared by the doctor to play tennis again I was on that court acting like nothing had ever happen. Looking back I don’t think I could have rushed into playing again so fast because I ended up hurting myself even more and I still have problems with my ankle, and I will probably always have issues with it.

Thank you for reading, and remember you don’t always have to look the best or play the best when you are injured.

mSv

School: The First Week!

Well I have been back to the grind of school and tennis, and I have to say I miss being able to get out of bed at noon and go to bed at 1AM. Monday was my first day of school. I am loving my new school year and my friend aMt came to my school this year, she and I used to swim on the same swim team she is my best friend!!!

All I have worn to school this week has been Lilly dresses, Jack Rogers, J.Crew shorts, and Ralph Lauren button downs! I have had a crazy week between homework and starting tennis. I have had to get up a 5:45 every morning to take a shower and in the summer I normally get up at 9 or 9:30 and take a shower around noon.

This school year everyone will know what is mine. I have monogramed most things.

I have my phone charger, my planer, and my calculator all monogramed.

I also have my laptop charger monogramed because a lot of people at FA have Mac's and it would get really confusing. And it matches the monogram on my laptop so!

Even though we have a Honor Code at FA, all of us have the same things, like calculators, chargers, and I have seen three girls with the same planer. Plus I am on the Honor Council so I have to more or less be the poster child for "I will not lie, cheat, or steal."

Everyone have a great Labor Day week end and I will do a post about what class I am taking, and the teachers, and all the stuff this weekend. I am going to my Grandparents house, or my Grandmothers house, I guess. I can't believe my Poppy Sam has really been gone for almost a year now. But anyways it is a 5 hour drive non stop and I know my Moma and I will have to have a bathroom break at some point, so it will be more like 5 1/2 or 6 hours by the time we get there. And I still have to pack.

This weekend I will also try to write some posts that I can just post really quickly next week. Thank you for reading! And have a great last weekend of summer!

A New Watch for School!

So I bought a watch. This watch was originally over $400 but I bought it for $80! I have always wanted a big gold watch, but this is the first that i have found that I really liked! I also bought it online so, I had to go to the jewelers to get four links taken out. Curse my small wrists! So the way I bought this watch so cheat was on My Habit. Its like Rue La La, but its better, and has better stuff!

See you tomorrow, thank you for reading!

Back-to-School Binder Covers!!!

So last night, my Moma and I went back-to-school shopping! I bought binders, paper, pens, scissors, white out, you name, I probably bought it. I also had to buy a $100 calculator for Algebra II/Trig. and of course I bought it in Pink!

Today, what I did was make binder covers for all of my binders. But these are no ordinary binder covers, they are Lilly Pulitzer binder covers!

So what I did was go online and search "Lilly Pulitzer prints," after I saved them to my hard-drive I went to Microsoft Word and Inserted each picture in to the page, all of them on separate pages. Some were meant to be laptop wall paper so I had to rotate them 90 degrees. I made the picture fit the page, and inserted a square shape box and made it white. I then put the name of the class into the square.

For the sides of the binder sides I cropped them to be .25 less of an inch then the actual size, so for a 2 inch binder I cropped it to be 1.75 inches. I did the same thing with the squares and just adjusted the font size.

So here are the patterns that I used!

Ahoy There

A Little Leg

Lucky Charms

You Gotta Regatta

Let's Cha Cha

I hope that this post has been helpful! So tomorrow I will do a post about my new watch! Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow!
