Italy and Greece Trip!!! Part 1

Hello, I have been a little busy lately. Back in April, during my spring break, I went to Italy and Greece with my school. It was so much fun! I know that people always say that when they go some where, but this really was a fun trip!

On of the things that I got really excited about seeing was all of things that I have been reading about in my two years of Latin! The colosseum (Flavian Amphitheater), Titus's Arch, Pompeii, and
Other things like the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican. and that was just in Italy! In Greece, I was the site of the first Olympics, the Parthenon, and other Greek ruins.

As the Latin geek that I am, I had a total freak out when I got to see the Arch of Titus, some thing that I actually got to read about in Latin class

Had an artsy moment at the Colosseum (aka the Flavian Amphitheater), another sight that I read about in my Latin class.

I took some pretty cool Panoramas at the Colosseum… with my friends head in it…

Visited the Trevi Fountain, twice, through a coin in both time. But sadly, I did not have a Lizzy McGuire moment and meet a hot Italian singer… :(

My group went to the Vatican… That was spectacular!!!

St. Peter's Basilica is MASSIVE!!!!!

Then we went to Pompeii and I had another Latin geek freak out….

To say that that was the best week of my like would be an understatement. I got to experience a culture that my family had brought over not even a hundred years ago. I ate pizza that was better than my Grandmothers (but don't tell her that). I also got to speak Italian, which was something that I had been practicing since Christmas time. I would not take back those 9 days for anything… Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!!

Went incognito with a sombrero.

Happy 2 Month Anniversary

Yep, it has really been two months since I started this blog. Two months of crazy traveling all around the south and east coast, and sharing with all of you about my life and things that affect me.

Two months since I posted Hello There! which introduced me to you all. Y'all have known me for two months but I don't know anything about you. In two months I have had two comments. So please comment and tell me what you think of this blog. I can't make this blog better if you guys don't tell me what you as readers want.

Hopefully there will be many more posts and many more anniversaries that I will be able to share with y'all!

Let's Talk: L.L. Bean's Boat and Tote Bag

On Monday night I ordered a large Boat & Tote Bag with long handles, and it arrived today. I was so excited when I saw the package!

Link to Boat & Tote Bag here!

The only difference between the long handles and the regular handles is that the long handles are 14" when the regular handles are only 8".  With the longer handles you are able to put it over your shoulder. The dimensions of a large Boat & Tote Bag are 15"H x 17"W x 7 1/2"D.  The price of the bag was $32.95! The monogram was another $8.00, the tax was $2.17, and the best part, the shipping and handling was FREE, for a total coast of $43.12. In the picture below you can see how big the large Boat & Tote Bag is in comparison to me.

See why I wanted Long Handles!!!

I love the Boat & Tote because it is affordable and durable. I know that my Moma and Daddy have had the same Boat & Tote Bag from before I was born. As a family we have a extra large Boat & Tote Bag that we use as our pool bag because we can put 5 or 6 beach towels into it. I also love it because it is made right here in the U.S.A. There is a video on YouTube about how and where the bags are made:

American people make these bags, and I for one think that if a bag can last for a lifetime and it is made in America from quality materials and still be affordable is a great thing. The Boat & Tote Bag has been around since 1945 - that is 68 years of trusted quality made in America.

It can also hold a lot of stuff. Which is good if you are traveling or going to the beach. Something that I have had to do in the past when I fly is because you can only take 2 carry-ons, I take a large tote bag that will fit under the seat in front of me. I do this so that iI can put my purse into my bag with out exceeding the 2  carry-on limit.

In the photo I have a 2" binder, a 1/2" binder, a pocket folder, a large Lilly Pulitzer Agenda, my Mac (which would have its nylon protective sleeve on it if I were going out side of my house), and two pencil pouches. I can also put my purse in the top so that can use both of my hands.

This is actually my third L.L. Bean Boat & Tote Bag.

In the back you can see my new Boat & Tote Bag, under that is the medium Boat & Tote, and the one under the medium one is a small.

I hope y'all have a great weekend and I would to to hear about any of your Boat & Tote stories!

A Lilly Agenda!

So today in the mail I got my Lilly Pulitzer agenda!

This is what mine looks like, but it is an agenda and not a monthly planner. I bought this because when fall comes and I have to go back to school I will need one to keep all of my homework and projects organized. I also bought it because it was supper cute and I just love the pink elephants on it.

So tomorrow I leave for Mississippi for a Convention. It's July and I am going to Mississippi, I am going to die for the heat! Well, at least I will be inside freezing my butt off in meetings all day.

Thanks for reading and I will have another post of y'all up tomorrow!

I am Back and New Jack's!

I am back from camp!!! I hope everyone liked the pre-planed posts I scheduled. I will post more about what I did at camp in a later post. Something excited happened when I was at camp - my custom Jack Rogers came in the mail!

Aren't they so cute! You may be asking why blue and green, but they are my school colors so i will be able to wear them until I graduate and they will get a lot of use! Go FA!!!! One thing I am dreading is breaking them in. They are going to hurt so much, but it will be worth it because I am a proud FA Falcon and I bleed Blue and Green! My custom Jack Rogers were $138 when normal Jack's are around $100. So they are $40 more but it was worth it.

Another thing that was relatively expensive was my Rainbows that I bought 6 years ago.

They were $50, know I don't think too much about $50 sandals, but that was before I discovered Tory Burch and Ralph Lauren and all of those brands. $50 for sandals, when I could get cheap plastic sandals from Walmart for $5-10 that will last me a summer. I have worn my Rainbows into the ground and still wear them, even though I have new ones, I just cant let them go and I don't regret buying them at all.

So tell me about things that you have bought that may be expensive but you know that you will use it or wear it for a long time! Hope you enjoy and I hope that you will give me some feedback on my blog!

Packing for Camp...

I go to this two week camp, it is at a university on the east coast and we stay in the university's dorms. It is really fun! This will be my 4th year going and I always love it! Well on Sunday I leave for this camp. Don't worry, I have been diligently working on blog posts for while I am gone, that is why I didn't post for three days, I was working on 7+ blog post for when I am at camp. So I leave on June 30 and I don't get back home until July 11, yeah I miss 4th of July and eating cherries, and going to the pool, and all the things that we as Americans tend to do on the 4th of July.

I have been packing for camp for the past week, and I am still not completely finished. Since it is two weeks, or almost that, 12 days, I have to pack a lot of stuff. I am taking a huge suitcase, a truck, and a portable fan because the dorms don't have air conditioning and it is in July.

Yeah, that's right, I have a monogramed trunk with Vineyard Vines whales on it!

So this is what I pack for camp:
14+ Shirts

14+ Pairs of Shorts and 1 Pair of Jeans

I don't know how many t-shirts, but enough for two weeks

7 Pairs of Athletic Shorts

Sleeping Shorts aka boxers

Shoes :)

And I don't think y'all need to see my underwear. But I am packing it.

Other stuff  I have packed:
All of my Jewelry

Sheets and a Blanket (of course the blanket is monogramed!)

Towels, Alarm Clock, Surge Protector, and a Pop-up Laundry Hamper

I always overpack when I go to this camp, but its okay because I have flexibility. I also have a huge fan, but it is in my garage and I don't want to have to go outside and get it, I am a lazy bones.

See y'all tomorrow!
