One Year of Blogging: A Reflection

With exam prep in full swing and exams getting scary close, I would like to reflect on my one year of blogging. Wow, this year has really flown by.

On May 28, 2013, an 8th grader was trying to find a way to relieve some stress from exams, and that when The Total Prepster was born. Well, not the girl, the blog…

I remember sitting down ash writing my first post, Hello There!. I had no idea what to say, how to start, or even what I was going to talk about. I knew I liked fashion, jewelry, and anything preppy. It has been 365 days (exactly, check the time stamp of my first post and this post if you don't believe me), 18,853 page views, 184 posts since I published by first post as The Total Prepster. And I wouldn't change a single moment since then.

Blogging has let me find myself, helped me find my inner writing voice which has helped my writing in school, and allowed we a place to express my feelings.

Shall we have a photo montage to finish the year off? I think we shall!!

Thank you for the best year of my life and here is to many more preptastic years ahead!

Twenty Facts About Me

One // I love cooking especially baking. I did a lot of baking and cooking during my Holiday break. 

Two // I have to sleep in shorts and a t-shirt under the covers or else I am either to cold or to hot to sleep. 

Three // I am an only child of a only child and a Daddy who has a sister who is thirteen years younger then he is. My nana also has a brother, but tends to ignore and deny that she has one. 

Four // I have a pair of Dansko Clogs and I wear them around the house and around time some times. I don't care if people think they are tacky, because they aren't! 

Five // I have a boys name because my Moma's father died when she was twenty-three. 

Six // I am a long range planner. I already know what I want to do for a living and what I want to name my children. But I don't have a clue about what I am going to wear tomorrow.  

Seven // Every time I have gone to the beach I have gotten an ear infection afterwards. 

Eight // I have very distinct hand writing that I have tried to change over the years, but never can.

Nine // I have never broken a bone (*knock on wood*)!

Ten // I have never met someone with the same first or middle name as me, excluding my family.

Eleven // Never been kissed.

Twelve // I take Latin as a "foreign" language, even thought it is not spoken anywhere in the modern world, unless you count the Vatican.

Thirteen // I sort of have an obsession with jewelry and things that sparkle… and it probably doesn't help having ADD either.

Fourteen // My favorite day of the week is Tuesday.

Fifteen // I am a May baby! I was also born a day after my grandfathers birthday.

Sixteen // I am only 5' 3", but I am taller then my Moma by about and inch.

Seventeen // I had braces for two and half years, and none of you will ever see the pictures because I have burned them all….

Eighteen // My great-great-great grand father was a colonel in the Second South Carolina Rifles during the War Between the States, and was a founding trustee of Clemson University.

Nineteen // I love to play solitaire and sudoko.

Twenty // I am 50% italian, and the other 50% is English, Irish, and Scottish. But 100% American.

My Favorite Bloggers: Part 3

Well, we have come to the end of this three part segment, for the week at least. I will probably do this again when I find some new bloggers that I really like. But here is a blogger who I found just last week that I think is really cool and good and more people should read it!

So PreppyOHgirl I actually found on Instagram and them started following and reading her blog. She is like me, she started blogging this summer and she in high school, and plays tennis. So I really like her and her posts. This summer she actually went to London and had the opportunity to watch matches live at Wimbledon!

What can I say about Bowties & Boatshoes... Well, they maybe the only boy-run prep blog. They alway have great posts for boys that can sometimes be carried over to girls styles. This is the blog that gave me the idea to get my Daddy a bow tie for his birthday in March.

Classy Girls Wear Pearls

Classy Girls Wear Pearls is run by the girlfriend of Kiel James Patrick who makes the supper cute bow tie bracelets, Sarah Vickers. She always has supper cute posts and her Instagram posts are so fun! I also like the name!!!

My Favorite Bloggers: Part 1

I have decided to make a new segment thing about my favorite bloggers. And since I am in Disney this week, I will be having a three part segment of two of my favorite bloggers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hope you enjoy part 1 of 3!

I started this blog 2 months ago because I was inspired by the blogs and bloggers who I already knew and read. Here are my favorite bloggers some who I found before I started The Total Prepster and some that I have found because of The Total Prepster.

The College Prepster

The College Prepster is one of my absolute favorite blogs to read. I always look forward to looking and see what Carly has posted today and what it is about. She and Summer Wind are the two people who made me want to start blogging. they inspired me to just do it and post what I like and what i think my readers will like. They are defiantly my Blogger role models.

Summer Wind

Summer Wind my not post the largest post, but they are always things that i am interested in and can see what i like from her recommendations. She is the reason that I never use my name, only mSv and I don't really tell y'all anything to personal, like what city I live in or what high school I got to, she always signs her posts "sCe." Like I said, Summer Wind and College Prep inspired me to start this blog and start to blog about all things preppy! She is one of my internet role models.

Happy 2 Month Anniversary

Yep, it has really been two months since I started this blog. Two months of crazy traveling all around the south and east coast, and sharing with all of you about my life and things that affect me.

Two months since I posted Hello There! which introduced me to you all. Y'all have known me for two months but I don't know anything about you. In two months I have had two comments. So please comment and tell me what you think of this blog. I can't make this blog better if you guys don't tell me what you as readers want.

Hopefully there will be many more posts and many more anniversaries that I will be able to share with y'all!

Milestones #2

So something exciting happened last night. The blog elapsed 1,000 page views!!!!! Sadly i was away from the computer when it actually elapsed but i got it when it was 1,022...

Yeah, I am a little happy! I want to thank everyone from around the world who has read this blog. I know it my be a little silly that a teenager would be posting stuff about preppy things, but you all have stuck by me. Thank you!
