You Are My Sunshine

So being off this week I have been able to do somethings around the house. I have been meaning to hang this one print that I got from Etsy, and I finally did it.

The print I got from Pearl and Pastries Etsy shop. I love this print because it "Your Are My Sunshine" was a song that my grandma sang to me when I was little. I always loved the song and when I found this print I instantly fell in love with it. Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Butter London Nail Lacquers

This entire week I am on what is called my Winter Break. Pretty much a time were people can go skiing and to warm places like Turks & Caicos.  I have had a lot of time today to look at blogs, sleep, eat, and just plan veg. I love it! It is so nice! Something that I have also been going has been looking at nail polish colors and brands. I found this really cool and edgy brand called Butter London. Here are some of my favorite colors:

Aren't the colors and their names, just make you go "Hmmmm"? They are vibrant, but not gaudy, sophisticated, but also silly and fun. You saw my favorites. What are some of yours? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

Southern Proper's Raised Right T-shirt

I found this t-shirt and I thought it was just so true! I love all of Southern Proper's t-shirts. They are always thoughtfully designed and always preppy! If I have a son, this is how he is going to be raised. Heck, this is similar to how I was raised! I also love the color! Who thinks this is a perfect representation of how southern boys are raised? Who else totally wants this t-shirt? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!

My Favorite Flats and Heels

Being a short person you would think that I would naturally lean towards heels because they would even me out with everyone else, but that is not so true. I have sprained my ankles one to many times, I have seen that when I wear heels my ankles starts to hurt sooner then normal peoples do. then my ankles start to swell and that is not a pretty picture at all! So that is why I love a pretty pair of flats! Patterned, solid colored; suede, patten leather; you name it I will most likely love it. Here are a few of my favorite pairs of flats and my favorite pairs of heels:

Contessa Flats from Jack Rogers

Jack Rogers has done it again! They have made me love not only their summer sandals even more, but also their new Contessa Flats! Aren't these just the perfect little pair of flats to through on with a pair of jeans and tunic for a warm-but-not-warm enough March or April day? I think that they are just so elegant and timeless. I feel like they belong on a beach in Italy or Greece watching the sun set.

I have noticed recently that the company of Jack Rogers is really trying to broaden their non summer shoes. I think that all of their shoes, summer, spring/fall, or winter, They are all just so adorable! Who else can not resist these perfect flats from Jack Rogers?

Valentine's Day

February 14th. It comes every year, so we always know it coming, but yet we still forget about it. Sadly, I do not have a Valentine this year. Only my box of tissues, my Tamiflu, and my TV to keep me company. Since I am home-bound today, I thought I would read up on some of the history behind Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day: A History
Also known as Saint Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day was named after Valentinus. Saint Valentine was imprisoned by the Roman Empire for performing marriages between soldiers and women that were forbidden by law. (What can you say, the Roman's liked their rules.) Before Valentinus was about to be executed he wrote a letter and signed it "Your Valentine" thus the phrase we have today. In more modern history, Valentine's Day has become more associated with love and the god of love, Cupid.

I never really has thought that Valentine's Day was just for people in love. I mean who doesn't love chocolate! I also look great in red, so that is a plus. But you don't need that special some one to make Valentines Day Valentines day. I love this one lyrics of this song called "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness, and it says:
"I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There is a chance we will make it now"
I have to say I believe in a thing called love. Love is a very strong emotion that is very unique to Humans. Love is just the step above like, technically. I think that people can use love in both good and bad ways. People are able to bear their soul with love; others can hold love above some ones head in a bad way. The way i think love should be used is as a international unifier. What better stabilizer then love, something that every human has (well, unless you are a psychopath that is.)

What so you think Valentine's Day should be about? I would love to hear about it in the comments!

So to all the love birds, and lonely hearts out there, you will always have Valentine's Day. Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day filled with love and chocolate!

Warby Parker Home Try-on: Sunnies

I. Love. Warby Parker!!! That is all I should have to say for this post, but because I like to talk, I won't just say that. Last week, when I was not infected with the flu, I order five pairs of sunglasses and five pair of normal glasses from Warby Parker through their Home Try-on program. I have to say that it was so easy and so simple.

4 Simple Steps of Warby Parkers Home Try-on Program
1) Order online.
2) They arrive at your door step.
3) Your try the glasses on, take pictures of them. Decide which ones you want.
4) Send them back, which they even give you the label.

That is it. Easy-peasy lemon squeezey.

For my five pairs i decided to go with a few that I know I would like, and some that are totally not me.

So the ones that I picked out that were more not like me were the Madison's and the Quimby's. I really liked the Madisons actually, but not so much the Quimby, just because they don't suit my face. Not having cheek bones makes finding glasses a tad difficult. Not having cheek bones are why square frames look good on me. Which ones do you think look the best on me? You can also tell me which ones you really don't like, it won't hurt my feelings. I would love to hear what y'all think!!

I love all the glasses, they are just so cute. One of the reasons why I love Warby Parker, they maybe styled after the glasses of the Beat Generation, but they have this timeless air about them. Anyone young or old, hipster or prepster, can wear them. Has anyone ever tried Warby Parkers home try-on? Would you try Warby Parkers Home Try-on? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day.

A Family Affair: Snow!!

I got a little stir crazy today, and I was already feeling better so I decided I wanted to go out side, and I did. And it snowed. A lot. My Moma, Daddy and I all wrapped up, put our Duck Boots on, and went out.

My family is really weird in that we love to drive in snow. But we know how to drive in snow. It looks like we weren't the only ones. It was a really good day! As you can guess we were in that part of the country who was hit by snow last night, and we are getting more now. I took the picture of the yard stick this afternoon and I couldn't believe my eyes. 8 INCHES!!!! Everyone stay safe, and stay warm! So what is your favorite part of the snow? Did it snow were you live? Thank you for reading and have a preptastic day!
